How do I register?

We provide a straightforward application process which makes it easy for candidates to register with us and start enjoying the benefits of joining our team.

Simply call your local office to speak to a member of our friendly team or complete a quick online application form. Once we have talked through your work preferences and found out a little more about you, we will then invite you into your local Healthcare Direct office and guide you through the rest of the process.

What times can I work?

Typical shift times will be within the following hours:

  • Early Shift – 07:00-14:00
  • Late Shift – 14:00- 21:00
  • Long Day – 07:00-21:00
  • Night Shift – 20:00-08:00

What service users will I work with?

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of service users including the elderly, those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and mental health issues.

What settings will you place me in?

The types of settings you can expect to work within include: Residential Homes, Nursing Homes, Supported Living Units, Private Hospitals & Clinics. We take into account which settings you prefer to work within and which service users you feel most confident supporting, we will always work with you to offer you the most suitable assignments.

What if I have no previous experience?

Our comprehensive training programme will provide you with all the knowledge and skills that you will require. You will be supported when putting all of this into practice for the first time by completing a shadow shift. Only when you feel you are confident and competent will we book you out on your first assignment, after which we will be support you throughout your career with Healthcare Direct.
